Fishing and aquiculture:

  • Women perform a very important role processing fishing products.
  • In fish and sea food freezing plants, tasks related to the selection, cutting into slices, conditioning and packing of prawn, scallops, giant squid, squid, fish and seafood fillets are totally made by women.  Something similar occurs in the canned food industry.
  • At the professional level, many women with careers related to biology, fishing and aquiculture engineering carry out process control tasks, quality control, sales and export logistics.
