APEC SUMMIT LEADERS ARRIVAL COMES TO AN END WITH RUSSIA AND MEXICO

• Maximum representatives of the Member Economies are meeting in Peru for the most important Forum of Asia-Pacific

Russian Leader, Dmitry Medvedev, arrived at the Callao Air Group No. 8 at around 5:35 am, to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Summit, which will take place between today and tomorrow at the Ministry of Defense Convention Center.

Alongside Medvedev, Vice President of that the Economy, Igor Sechin,  Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, Ministry of Energy, Sergei Shmatko, and executives of major Russian corporations, arrived. The official was received by Minister of Defense Antero Flores-Araoz, who welcomed him on behalf of Peru.

Medvedev planned meetings with the Leaders of The United States, People’s Republic of China, Japan and Australia. Also, once the APEC meeting is concluded his official delegation visit to Peru to hold various discussions with the Peruvian Leader, Alan García Perez, will begin.

On the other hand, in the morning, the leader of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, arrived in the capital and immediately went to the Ministry of Defense Convention Center to hold a bilateral meeting with his Peruvian counterpart.

This meeting was also attended by Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and Patricia Espinoza from Peru, were the foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Mercedes Araoz, Minister of Economy and Finance, Luis Valdivieso and the Vice Minister Gonzalo Gutierrez.
