Delegates from the Economies of Korea, the United States and Peru end the round of lectures today at the “Workshop on the fight against corruption to facilitate international cooperation in the recovery of assets”, to share their experiences and transparency policies implemented to face this world issue on the last day of meetings.
Likewise, Rick Messick, World Bank expert on the fight against corruption will give a press conference on the investigation of traces of assets at an international level and corruption fighting policies promoted by this institution.
Today’s lectures will begin with the participation of Mr. Brian Pearce, United States Assistant Attorney from the U.S. Department of Justice who will give a presentation on “Mutual Legal Assistance, Consensual Cooperation, Freezing, Forfeiture and Effective Collaboration”. Likewise, Mr. James Shaw, Advisor of the UN Organized Crime and Corruption UNODC Office will give a lecture on “The Role of Asset Recovery in the Fight Against Organized Crime”.
Peru will present a summary on “Legal Framework, International Conventions and the Role of the State in Asset Recovery” and will share its experience on the results of the procedures to obtain the recovery and repatriation of assets and money after Alberto Fujimori’s Regime.
Finally, Mr. Kim Yong Nam, Senior Public Prosecutor from Seoul’s High Prosecutor’s Office will give a lecture on the Anti-Money Laundering Systems, Some Corruption Cases and Progress on Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance in Korea.
