• The Second Seminar on SMEs starts today at San Martín de Porres University of Chiclayo. Johann Spitzer, APEC SME Working Group Chair will open the meeting.

The Innovation Management Seminar starts today and the opening remarks will be delivered by Johan Spitzer, SMEWG Chair. This event gathers specialists on Innovation management and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) matters for APEC SMEs. Some of these experts will hold a Press Conference at the APEC Media Center at San Martín University of Chiclayo.

The press conference will feature Mr. Luis Daniel Soto, Executive Director of Technical Development, Microsoft Latin America who is attending the meeting with his presentation on Open Innovation, the new paradigm: Implications for the Government and Small Enterprises; and Stephen Lau, President of EDS, Electronic Information Systems President, Hong Kong, who will deal with Information Technology development in East Asia and about the experiences we can learn from this world power.

Tomorrow, the 15th APEC Small and Medium Enterprise Ministerial Meeting will start in Chiclayo. Today, in Lima, the Mining Working Group Chair, Alexei Pinchuk from Russia, will report on the results obtained after two days of meetings. Delegates from all APEC Member Economies continue discussing on the Peruvian proposal of looking for a sustainable development in the sector, regarding both social and environmental issues. Besides, the 31st Transportation Working Group Meeting continues at the National Museum.
